February is Museum Month in San Diego! Our activities this month will include going to the U.S.S. Midway Museum and the San Diego Air and Space Museum to take advantage of the half-priced entrance fees. In addition to this, we have a trip planned to the San Diego Zoo, and an Olympics Party to celebrate the beginning of the Winter Olympic Games. Since February 14 is Valentine’s Day in the United States, students will also have the opportunity to make personalized cards to give to their friends and family. This month is jam-packed with activities.

What happens in San Diego during February? Something very exciting – Whale Watching Season! From December to March, gray whales migrate south from Alaska to Mexico. They travel south to breed and start the lives of their new calves. Then, from February to April, the gray whales move back up north. The mothers stay close to the shore with their babies, which makes it a good time to see them! There are many companies that offer whale watching tours in San Diego. Also, by going out to Cabrillo National Monument, you can usually see whales swimming near the coast. |
